CP2000 for 1099-NEC income you already reported

By Tax Letter Desk Updated November 4, 2026

Short answer

If the CP2000 adds 1099-NEC income that’s already on your return, you can disagree with that change.

Mark the box, and in a signed statement name the line or schedule where you reported it.

If it’s inside a larger total, like gross receipts, break that total down.

Checked November 4, 2026 against IRS Topic 652 (Oct 16, 2026) , IRS Pub 5181 (Dec 2022) .
